Widener University’s Department of Computer Science invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of assistant professor to start in fall 2020. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, will be expected to pursue an active research program that will include significant participation by undergraduate students, and will be expected to contribute to departmental, campus and professional service. Teaching duties will include introductory and intermediate computer science courses in Python and Java, computer science labs and upper-level computer science courses. The candidate will also be expected to advise students and supervise senior design and implementation projects.

Qualifications: Minimum requirements are a commitment to undergraduate education and clear evidence of scholarly potential. Ph.D. in computer science or a related discipline is required. Preference for background in cyber-security and/or sub fields such as machine learning/artificial intelligence, mobile app development, game design. ABD candidates may be considered if the Ph.D. will be completed by May 2020.
