Widener University is currently seeking two entry-level and pre-tenure lateral tenure track faculty members for Commonwealth Law School beginning with the 2022-2023 academic year. Reporting to the Dean of the Law School, successful candidates will teach first-year, upper division required, and elective classes, engage in scholarship, and provide service to the Law School and the community. Interest areas include Civil Procedure, Contracts, Legal Methods, Academic Support, Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Professional Responsibility, and Wills & Trusts but the Law School may hire faculty in any subject area or category based on a candidate’s overall strength.

Established in 1989, Widener Law Commonwealth is an independently accredited law school within Widener University. Located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the Law School’s location in the capital of Pennsylvania provides impactful experiences for both our students and faculty. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
- Teach first-year, upper division required, and elective classes both in the day and evening
- Engage in scholarship
- Provide service to the Law School and the community
- Advise students and student organizations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education/training and experience required):
- Must possess a JD degree or its equivalent
- Strong academic background
- Commitment to excellence in teaching
- Demonstrated potential to be a productive scholar
- Full-time or adjunct law school teaching experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR UNUSUAL HOURS:
- Must be available to teach day and evening division courses
