Widener University is currently seeking a full time Lecturer in the School of Nursing. This role reports to the Dean of the School of Nursing. Accredited by CCNE, the School of Nursing is an NLN Center of Excellence and offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, DNP, and PhD nursing programs with total school enrollment of approximately 800 students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
Essential duties:
- Teach nursing courses primarily in the undergraduate BSN program.
- Design, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based teaching strategies to ensure student outcomes
- Mentoring/advisement to students.
- Participate in student recruitment and retention activities
- Engage in service to the university, School of Nursing and community.
- Contribute to the creation of an environment that promotes diversity, inclusivity, growth, equality, and freedom of speech.
Secondary responsibilities:
- Foster interprofessional learning experiences
- Community and civic engagement
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education/training and experience required):
Required:
- Master’s degree in Nursing
- Licensure as a registered nurse and eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania
- A minimum of three (3) years of practice as a registered nurse.
- One (1) year of academic or clinical teaching experience. Clinical teaching may include preceptor and staff development experience.
Preferred:
- Earned Research Doctorate for tenure-track or Practice Doctorate for clinical track
- Certification as a Nurse Educator (CNE)
- Faculty who can teach pathopharmacology, psychiatric/mental health nursing, gerontological nursing, research and evidence-based practice
