Reporting to the Assistant Dean and Executive Director of Graduate, International, Compliance & Legal Studies, the Recruiting and Admissions Coordinator supports the Delaware Law School’s enrollment and revenue goals.  The Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students, maintain communication throughout the enrollment process, and support the work of faculty and staff members across the University.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

Essential duties:

  1. Recruitment
  • Communicate and understand the strategic importance of recruitment in achieving enrollment and revenue goals of the University.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all academic programs, including but not limited to admission requirements, total credit hours, curriculum, faculty, career outcomes, alumni success, course requirements and accreditations.
  • Develop and implement strategic recruitment plans to build a strong pipeline of prospective students for each incoming class/program.
  • Organize and attend recruitment events on and off campus, including managing logistics such as social media promotion, vendor coordination, material transport, travel arrangements, and booth set-up and removal.
  • Build and maintain relationships with high schools, colleges, community-based organizations, law firms and businesses to attract qualified and diverse candidates.
  • Maintain and update recruitment-related website content and identify and pursue new recruitment opportunities.
  • Plan, host and present information sessions, webinars and open houses to promote program offerings.
  • Support the creation and distribution of promotional materials to partners and prospective students.
  • Engage with prospective students through email, phone, text, and in-person meetings.
  1. Admissions
  • Respond to inquiries for prospective students via phone, email, in-person and web-based interest forms by providing high-quality customer service.
  • Guide prospects through the admissions pipeline, with the goal of transforming prospective students into applicants, and applicants into enrolled students.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions team to screen applicants and ensure a seamless admissions and transition process.
  • Maintain consistent communication with external partners and prospective students.
  • Participate in welcome receptions and acceptance events at the conclusion of each admissions cycle.
  • Provide hands-on support throughout the enrollment process and coordinating with departments such as Financial Aid, Registrar, and Bursar.
  1. Enrollment
  • Build partnerships with the community agencies, organizations, and colleges to support enrollment efforts.
  • Lead applicants in navigating various application portals and meeting admissions requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure the applicants meet deadlines in submission of all required documents.
  1. Database & Document Management
  • Track weekly progress toward recruitment and admissions goals.
  • Maintain and process into the database accurate, organized and up-to-date records of prospective student data (i.e., interest forms, interview notes, follow up documents).
  • Ensure data integrity across all recruitment & admissions systems.
  • Generate and analyze regular reports to monitor recruitment and admissions performance progress and share insights with the team.

Secondary responsibilities:

  • Support student orientation activities.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education/training and experience required):

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Valid driver's license and passport.
  • 2-3 years of experience in admissions, recruitment, enrollment, partnership development or sales.
  • Experience in community outreach and public speaking.
  • Strong project management and customer service skills, including cold calling.
  • Ability to use data to inform decisions and improve outcomes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to establish goals and assess recruitment opportunities.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to be flexible.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel to off campus events and manage recruitment materials.
  • Commitment to Widener University’s educational mission and core values.
  • Represent the University positively and professionally in all interactions.

Preferred:

  • Pipeline management experience (ability to convert prospective student to lead, to information session attendee, to interview scheduled, to application completed, to interview completed).
  • Experience working with external stakeholders  and community partners.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR UNUSUAL HOURS:

  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends and travel domestically.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to carry and transport marketing materials such as brochures, banners, promotional items.
