The Department of Modern Languages in the College of Arts and Sciences at Widener University invites applications for the position of Adjunct Professor of French. The successful candidate will have experience teaching Francophone language, literature, and culture at the undergraduate level and will be expected to teach primarily advanced Francophone literature and culture courses and the senior capstone course.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to) :
Essential duties:
Teach 2-3 courses per semester for AY2025-26 (Advanced-level literature and culture teaching assignments including the senior capstone course)
Adjunct language faculty at Widener enjoy a great deal of autonomy at Widener. They design their own syllabi and are free to implement their preferred language acquisition pedagogy and techniques of their choosing within prevailing norms and best practices in SLA.
A minimum of 4 office hours weekly are required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (e ducation/training and experience required) :
Required:
Experience teaching French language, literature and culture at the undergraduate level
PhD in French or closely related field desired; MA with record of scholarly publishing record will be considered
