Widener University is currently seeking an Assistant Registrar for the Delaware Law School. Reporting to the Law School Registrar, this role provides support to faculty, administrators, and law students by scheduling course offerings, tracking enrollment, and evaluating the progress of each student toward degree requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
Essential Duties:
- Oversee the maintenance of Student Planning for all degree and certificate programs.
- Identify and audit graduate candidates for degree and certificate programs.
- Assist with commencement ceremony and order diplomas, programs and regalia.
- Certifies graduates for state bar exams and assists with Board of Bar Examiners requests.
- Setup and monitor faculty evaluations within Canvas Evaluation Kit.
- Generate reports on student data for campus administrators and faculty, including Dean’s list honors and class rank.
- Oversees the setup and maintenance of ExamSoft program for students.
- Act as liaison to Graduate, International, Compliance, and Legal Studies Programs office, assisting with registrations, grades, and Dean’s actions.
- VA certifying official and representative.
- Set up registration priorities for students on the Delaware Campus.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assist with building course schedules.
- Run transcripts, prepare letters and complete education verifications as needed.
- Oversee input of bar pass/fail information.
- Assist students/faculty/deans as required.
- Distribute email communications to the student body.
- Supports the Registrar with school closures.
- Supervises and provides training and assistance to support staff in the Registrar’s Office.
- Incorporates best practices and develops improved processes representative of Widener University Delaware Law School.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned or directed to support departmental needs and align with the mission, values and goals of the Delaware Law School Registrar’s Office and Widener University.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education/training and experience required):
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Two (2+) years of experience in higher education administration, academic services, or a registrar’s office. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, particularly Excel).
- Ability to apply strong problem solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer Service experience.
Preferred:
- Experience working in higher education.
- Working knowledge of Ellucian Colleague and Informer software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR UNUSUAL HOURS:
- Requires occasional evening and weekend hours, particularly during exam period and commencement.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to be mobile between workstation and various campus buildings and locations.
