Widener University is currently seeking a Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor of Chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences for the 2024-25 academic year. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Teaching duties will include introductory chemistry courses and laboratories for both science/engineering majors and for non-science majors, including general, organic, and biochemistry for nursing students.

Widener’s Chemistry Department is a proud signer of Beyond Benign’s Green Chemistry Commitment and is invested in the teaching of green chemistry across our curriculum. Experience in green chemistry is beneficial.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

Essential duties:

  • Teaching introductory courses

Secondary responsibilities:

  • Advising majors

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education/training and experience required):

Required:

  • A demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education and a PhD in chemistry or equivalent experience in a chemistry-related discipline. ABD candidates may be considered if the degree will be completed by August 2024.
